Periodontist and Implant Surgeon

Dr. Asha Rani is a practicing periodontist in NYC. She received her dental degree from the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2003 and completed her periodontal residency training at the Manhattan VA Hospital in 2007. She performs complex procedures including implant surgery, bone and soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, extractions, and vertical sinus lifts.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Rani lectures on mindfulness to dental students and residents who treat PTSD patients. Through her years of practice, it became apparent to her that patient care goes far beyond simply diagnosis and treatment and so it has become her mission to integrate wellness into dentistry. Trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, she is passionate about whole body health care and integrates reiki and sound healing into dentistry to alleviate patient stress and anxiety. Internationally, she is a surgical professor of Conscious Dental Implant Training and the Periodontal Director of Full Smile Foundation, a dental outreach program serving in underprivileged communities in countries around the world.

Book cover titled "Who Is She?" with colorful abstract artwork of a human profile made of vibrant swirling colors, and subtitle "The Journey Beyond Being a Mother, Wife, and Daughter" by Asha Rani.

Who are you when you’re not being someone’s mother, wife, or daughter?

When you look in the mirror, who is that woman staring back? Is she able to live freely and speak her truth? Is she waiting for the kids to grow up or to retire from work to do the things she wants? Is she able to admit to her partner that she loves but is no longer in love? Is she able to make herself a priority and choose her happiness first?

If you’ve been waiting to silence the noise so you can hear the answers to these questions, then read these words. This is the story of one woman but the journey of many. She had it all, and yet still felt as if something was missing. Walking away from a twenty-five-year relationship and stepping out of the box of societal norms was just the beginning. The path of self-discovery and recreating a new story was the magical unfolding.

Speaker

A woman stands on stage in front of a microphone, illuminated by stage lights with a large screen behind her.

Dr. Rani travels the country speaking on personal development, growth, and what it truly means to live an authentic, embodied life.

Rooted in lived experience, practical insight, and heart-centered wisdom, her talks shed light on societal roles, conditioning, and outdated patterns that quietly shape our choices, relationships, and sense of self. She challenges the belief that success, happiness, or worth must fit a prescribed mold and instead invites individuals to reclaim their inner authority, live in alignment, and choose a life that feels expansive, honest, and self-directed.

At the heart of Dr. Rani’s talks, and the core of her work, is that true freedom comes from authenticity. It begins the moment we give ourselves permission to be real and choose our happiness.
